This years winner for a free trip for the biggest Steelhead was won by Dr. Steve Chittenden of Tacoma with a 20 lb plus. It was a somewhat snowy day. That's right…snowy! It's beautiful on the river when it snows.  Changes the feeling of everything.  The color of the water, the crisp smell in the air. Fresh and clean!

Towering sitka spruce, big leaf maple, and hemlock thrust toward a cobalt blue sky as he maneuvers his custom boat along the lower Quinault River. Upstream, a herd of perhaps 70 elk emerges from the trees and swims across the river. It's clear why Benavidez has named his boat and business "Memory Maker."
