Benny approached me about doing a Web site for him. I myself am a fishing enthusiast and wanted to experience his services first hand.

I told him I have never caught a Steelhead before and I have been trying since I could hold a pole. I showed up at his place at 5:25 and we headed out to the Lower Quinalt River. We got to the river around 6:30 and launched his Jetsled. The drive down was nice as we shared fishing stories, and laughs.

Benny wanted to check out the river to get an idea of how his upcoming season will go. We realized there was not enough water to fully utilize the boat, so we pulled off and anchored next to cook creek.

Benny had really Professional Gear and Boat setup. He was safe and wise when navigating the area always making me feel safe.

We decided to grab the poles and the net and walk in to the gravel bar. The area was amazing. We were the only people in site. There was a beautiful sunset, and it was the most peaceful atmosphere I have ever been in.

He pointed to a spot and told me to cast in. I asked him to do a demo cast to get an idea of the action he wanted on the lure. He cast into a deeper hole next to a fallen tree branch. When he reeled in he caught a nice size trout first attempt.

We shared a laugh. I casted next... Nothing. Second Cast was a little short of the target.. Third Cast... First Steelhead!! It was around 6:40. The experience was amazing. There was a nice fight and the fish jumped and gave me a little taste of what fishing is supposed to be about.

We netted the fish and I casted again and caught another Steelhead. Now I am thinking I caught my first ever, and already my second. WOW. We walked around the river for a while checking out the scenery.

After about an hour we came back to the hole and Benny casted. He just missed a fish and spooked it away. I cast and caught my Third Steelhead.

Amazed and Satisfied, we decided to head home earlier then expected to enjoy the rest of the day.

We were home by 10:00 and I spent the rest of my day with my new daughter.

To me there is nothing like this in the world. You can only fish this river with a Guide. It is located near the heart of the National Rain Forest. It is a brief drive from Lake Quinalt Lodge and other nice accommodations.

Benny showed me the fishing time of my life and did it with class. There was no pressure. It was not about catching fish. It was about enjoying life and taking time away from work, and busy lifestyles.

I plan to take my wife and son next time. We share a special bond in the area. I proposed to my wife at Merriman Falls.
